Well, this is a deer that we surprised in the woods. We stared at it, it stared at us. I took a picture. This happened at the top of a very steep, round hill on the west coast of Washington, USA. We had just emerged from the wet, dark tunnels of a long-abandoned WWII-era bunker and gun emplacement that sits atop this hill, when we came upon this deer.

I took this photo of my brother when we were exploring the coastal volcanic rocks in Costa Rica while on a family vacation. I think the photo captures exactly how we felt in that moment. It was kind of an escape to just spend the day freely exploring.

Well, once upon a time my boyfriend and I decided to make a trip around USA! Sometimes we fight and then my boyfriend meditates. So I caught him doing that at the edge of the rock. I think I was way more scared than he was. And then I thought it could be a last picture of him. That’s how I got this shot. We love each other!
